In 2023 myself and a skilled carpenter started Saffa Woodworking.

I decided to pursue my dream to make products that were both sustainable and beautiful. With this in mind, I started on my journey to develop my skills from complete novice to a skilled joiner making exquisite products.

Fortunately, along this journey I met a very skilled carpenter and joiner. The advantage of this chance encounter was that the skills I lacked, he could very much make up for, and teach me to achieve the level of product perfection we aim for. With his skills, and my willingness to learn, we set up Saffa Woodworking and started making well crafted and beautifully finished products.

We also both wanted to give back more than we took from the environment, and after searching to find the right fit, we discovered Ecologi who will plant trees for us in many of the areas where our timber comes from. We made the decision that for every £50 spent, by our customers, we would plant a tree to give back more than we take.

We are also very selective about who supplies us with timber. Where possible we upcycle wood and where fresh material is required for hygiene reasons, like with our chopping boards and charcuterie boards, our suppliers must share our focus on sustainability.
